What happens on the call
Kelly will ask what brought you here and what you would like to be different. It helps to think of one or two concrete moments, like lying awake at 2 a.m. or reaching for a vape in the car, rather than a general goal. She will also ask a few screening questions to make sure hypnosis is appropriate for you right now.
Then it is your turn. Ask anything: how sessions are structured, what hypnosis feels like, how many sessions people tend to book, what happens if you cannot relax. Kelly will answer plainly, including when something is outside the scope of hypnosis.
Fees, plainly
Sessions are private pay, and insurance is not billed. Kelly shares her fees during the consult so you can decide with the full picture in front of you. There is no pressure to buy a package, and you are welcome to take time to think after the call.
If cost is a concern, say so. Kelly can talk through realistic options, such as focusing on fewer sessions with a stronger self-hypnosis practice in between.
Before you book
Choose a time when you can talk privately for 15 minutes. You do not need headphones for the consult, though they help. Have a rough sense of your availability for future sessions, including evenings or lunch hours if those suit you better.
If you are booking for a child through HypnoKids, the parent or guardian should book and attend the consult. Kelly will explain consent and how parents take part in every session.
If this is not the right time
Hypnotherapy is not urgent care. If you are struggling to stay safe, feel overwhelmed in a way that frightens you, or are having thoughts of harming yourself, please contact 988 or 911 now rather than waiting for a consult. If you need ongoing mental health treatment, a licensed provider in Massachusetts is the right first step.
Hypnosis can be a good complement to medical or mental health care once you are steady. Kelly is happy to talk later, when the timing is better.
After the consult
If you both decide to go ahead, you will schedule your first full session and receive a secure video link and a short note on how to prepare. Kelly will explain the appointment length before you book. You will leave with a brief self-hypnosis practice to use before the next appointment.
If you decide hypnosis is not for you, that is a perfectly good outcome too. A clear no is better than a reluctant yes, and the consult exists to make that choice easy.
